This movie is absolutely awful, apart from the CGI! The acting is horrendous and it is the worst film I have seen in ages! Ed Speleers as Eragon must rank among the worst actors in history. With little sign of an actual facial expression,except for one of the ugliest grins ever to tarnish a screen, his performance is devoid of all quality and talent. Also setting the remarkably low standard of acting quality are Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Robert Carlyle, Christopher Egan and Sienna Guillory. ‘Eragon’ has the occasional good performance or moment of excellence — usually by ‘Saphira’ the dragon and she is computer generated! The film falls short of even the loliest expectation.The producers seem to have focused on getting as many special effects in as possible while ignoring the storyline. To be honest it isn’t even the same story. Those hoping for a spectacular PG-rated epic shouldn’t hold their breaths, because this adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s bestseller is a massive bellyflop.It’s an amateurish example of how NOT to make a fantasy movie.
