Watch Anything Else Now

I really enjoyed this film, although it’s by no means one of Woody Allens best…not even close, but if you’re a fan of Woody’s classic New York city-scapes and Jewish cultural references married with a simple story of love, hope, ambition and neurosis then it’s worth a watch. I find Woody Allen films to often be some of the greatest pieces of story-telling on film, using the classic devices of Jewish counter-culture and narrative, but ‘Anything Else’ is almost a slight characture of his own style….if you want to see a great great Woody film, check out ‘The Purple Rose of Cairo’ or ‘Manhatten Murder Mystery’ which are both fabulous.
