Napoleon Dynamite - The Verdict

This is the only explanation I can think of for the word of mouth success of this film. I have heard nothing but good reviews for this, but I was incredibly disappointed when I saw it. It just wasn’t funny in the least, I know some of you will be screaming ‘its quirky, dont you get it!’ I do get quirky - I love quirky and offbeat when done properly, but this was just lazy comedy and relied on a few lame catchphrases for its continued appeal. The plot was sweet enough, but wasn’t enough to carry the film above bearable. If you truely love film, then I can’t see how you could love this.
